New Orleans Wedding Weekend
CANE & TABLE WELCOME DINNER
FRENCH QUARTER DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHER
A Candlelit Welcome Dinner at Cane & Table | New Orleans Wedding Weekend
There’s something so special about New Orleans — the rhythm of live music drifting through the French Quarter, the glow of candlelight reflecting
off cobblestone streets, and the way every celebration feels alive with emotion. Earlier this October, I had the joy of documenting an intimate
welcome dinner at Cane & Table, tucked right in the heart of the French Quarter.
This evening marked the start of a beautiful wedding weekend — a cozy dinner surrounded by close family, heartfelt speeches, and the kind of
laughter that fills a room. Every moment was drenched in warmth: the soft amber lighting, lush floral arrangements, and the easy
chemistry that only exists between people who truly love each other.
The Setting: Cane & Table in the French Quarter
Known for its moody charm and timeless character, Cane & Table was the perfect setting for a relaxed, candlelit dinner.
The ambiance paired effortlessly with the couple’s vision — intimate, intentional, and romantic. Between flickering candles,
delicate blooms, and the hum of conversation, the space felt like something out of a movie.
My Approach: Documentary & Intentional Storytelling
For this evening, I approached the night in my favorite way — documentary-style, staying quietly in the background and letting
moments unfold naturally. I became a bit of a fly on the wall, observing glances, reactions, and laughter without interference.
The result? A gallery that feels like reminiscing — as if you were sitting back at the table again, hearing the clinking of glasses and the sound of familiar voices.
The Medium: A Blend of Digital, 35mm Film, and Polaroid
This collection included a mix of digital, 35mm film, and Polaroid images — each medium adding its own emotion and texture
to the story. Film captured the grainy nostalgia and warmth of the candlelight, while Polaroids brought that tangible, instant feel of the
evening. Together, they told a complete story of connection and presence.
A Night to Remember
As the dinner came to an end, the evening shifted into a lively celebration — filled with dancing, storytelling, and genuine joy.
It was a perfect reflection of what makes New Orleans celebrations so unforgettable: soul, heart, and community.
This New Orleans welcome dinner at Cane & Table was a true reminder of why I love photographing moments like these — where
everything is real, raw, and beautifully unposed.
